A new species of pontoniine shrimp, Chacella mclaughlinae n. sp., is described and illustrated on the basis of specimens collected from Clipperton Island, eastern tropical Pacific. The new species is most similar to C. tricornuta Hendrickx, 1990, and it can be distinguished from the latter by the number and position of horn-like abdominal teeth and proximal segment of antermular peduncle with acute ventromedial tooth. A key to distinguish the three known species of the genus is given.
