摘要	<正>I was excited when reading the recent Science news article [1](Supplementary materials online) saying “deep(drill) cores fulfil60-year-old quest”. I wished I were an International Ocean Discovery Program(IODP) 399 participant to share with the public my personal involvement in this historical event.
